Eric Girard, Founder and Executive Director

Eric brings lifelong experience in the wilderness, cancer survivorship, and world-class training and facilitation skills to Wilderness Reconnection Experiences. He has backpacked extensively throughout the Sierra Nevada and has climbed a number of 14,000-foot peaks in Colorado. In addition, Eric is a rock climber, whitewater rafter, mountain biker, scuba diver, and sailor. He and his wife Erin share a common love of the outdoors - their first date was a rock-climbing excursion. Eric is certified as a Wilderness First Responder by the Wilderness Medicine Institute of the National Outdoor Leadership School.

In his youth, Eric was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle, Scouting’s highest rank.

Eric has been a teacher, trainer, facilitator and consultant for the past 15 years and has helped improve the performance of thousands of people, ranging from entry-level to executive vice presidents of Fortune 500 firms. When he's not leading trips or running WRE, Eric provides organization and management development consulting to firms in a variety of industries.
